The Cavalry Junior Academy program serves as a developmental bridge between recreational soccer in Bryan/College Station and the Cavalry Youth Academy & Competitive programs. We recommend Junior Academy as a supplement to local recreational soccer leagues.
What is Junior Academy?
A seasonal soccer program for kids ages 5-6 in Bryan/College Station that offers one training session per week for 16 weeks with our experienced, licensed coaches. Training sessions last around 60 minutes and are geared toward motor skills, technical activities, small sided games, and an introduction to team play. Junior Academy players do not tryout, so please do not register for tryouts.
When and where are training sessions and games?
The Fall season is mid Sep - mid Nov. (6:00 PM - 7:00 PM)
The Spring season is late Jan - late Apr (7:00 PM - 8:00 PM)
Players will have holiday breaks similar to the school calendars.
Training sessions are in College Station, generally Veterans Park.
What are the training sessions like?
Training sessions are led by our Youth Academy Director, and supplemented by our professional staff coaches. Junior Academy curriculum emphasizes:
- motor skills
- technical training (ball mastery)
- progression to small sided games
What do I need to bring to trainings?
Shin guards and soccer cleats are mandatory. Players also need to bring a soccer ball and water.
Are there uniforms?
In order to help keep your costs low, Junior Academy players will not order uniforms. However, participants are asked to wear a red shirt with black shorts.

A season long (Fall or Spring) technical training program. The fee covers seasonal enrollment into the Junior Academy Training Program.
