The Cavalry Competitive program offers the highest level of soccer in the Brazos Valley. Players must demonstrate a substantial level of commitment to training in order to maintain physical and mental readiness for competitions, as Cavalry Youth Soccer desires all of its teams to hold or promote in league status from season to season. All players receive playing time, but the amount of playing time and positions are at the discretion of the Cavalry coaches, subject to league rules, based on player ability and commitment.

A soccer program for boys ages 10-18 that offers three training sessions and one game per week. Players participate in the Fall and Spring seasons. Players are placed on teams based on age and ability. Our experienced, licensed coaches conduct training sessions and coach games. Competitive players are required to register and participate in tryouts.
Players are expected to be at all games and training sessions. Players who cannot attend a training session or game must inform the coach in advance.
Players are expected to wear proper Capelli training/game uniforms at all team sessions and games.
At the Competitive level, playing time is not equal but earned. Playing time is at the coach's discretion and takes into consideration absenteeism, tardiness, or general behavior issues in addition to the skill of the player, the quality of the opponent, and competition.
Competitive players aged 11U play a 7v7 format, 12U play a 9v9 format, and use a size four (4) soccer ball. Players aged 13U+ play a 11v11 format and use a size five (5) soccer ball.
Parents are encouraged to support their player and team in a fashion that breeds a positive and respectful learning environment.
As such, it is imperative that coaches are able to teach/instruct the game to players in games and at practice.
To best ensure a positive learning environment, parents should refrain from directional coaching on the sidelines while applauding positive plays and encouraging effort.
After all, parents are the best role models for our players: please respect our players, coaches, opponents, and referees.
Remember: “Let the players play, let the coaches coach, and let the referees ref!”
