Youth Academy

Ages 5-9

The Cavalry Youth Academy program serves as a developmental bridge between recreational soccer in Bryan/College Station and the Cavalry Competitive program.


Semester Format (Fall & Spring)

  • 12-week program
  • Weeks 1-4, Training 2 nights a week (Week Days)
  • Weeks 5-12, Training 2 nights a week plus 1 Game Night (Week Day)

Registration Dues: $295 (annual), $225 (semester)

A soccer program for boys ages 5-9 that offers two training sessions and game options. Players participate in the Fall and Spring seasons. Players are placed on teams based on age and ability. Our experienced, licensed coaches conduct training sessions and coach games. Youth Academy players do not tryout, so please do not register for tryouts.

Uniforms

Cavalry has contracted with Capelli for game day and training uniforms.

Training Equipment

  • Shin Guards: All players are required to wear shin guards during all training and matches. 
  • Cleats: All players are strongly encouraged to purchase cleats to wear in training and matches.
  • Soccer Ball: All players are encouraged to bring their soccer ball with them to all training sessions and matches. 10U and younger players use a size (4) four soccer ball.
  • Water Bottle: All players should bring their own water to all training and games.

When and where are the training sessions and games?

The Fall season is mid Aug- mid Nov. 

The Spring season is mid Jan - mid Apr 

Players will have holiday breaks similar to the school calendars.


Training sessions and games are in College Station, generally Veterans Park.


What are the training sessions like?

Training sessions are led by our Youth Academy Director, and supplemented by our professional staff coaches.  Youth Academy curriculum emphasizes:

  • technical training (ball mastery)
  • 1v1, 2v1, 3v2 - to goal situations
  • possession and finishing games with progression to a 7v7 match
